Home Builders Tax Break Approved, Goes to Governor Perdue
State lawmakers have passed a bill allowing home builders to defer for up to three years paying county and municipal property taxes on their unsold inventory of new homes. Qualifying for the exemption are homes that have been issued a certificate of occupancy but remain unoccupied.
Top 10 Cities With Most Price Reductions
Raleigh was recently named among the top 10 cities with the most price reductions as of July 1. Real estate research site Trulia.com says 24.6 percent of current homes on the market in the United States have had at least one price cut, totaling $27.1 billion in reductions.
