William P. Saunders, Jr., is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BS Degree in Agricultural Economics. In 1967, he accepted a position as Executive Vice-President of Pinehurst Properties, a subsidiary of Pinehurst Incorporated. Part of his duties involved establishing a marketing program for condominiums and lots, and to seek new uses for Pinehurst Incorporated’s extensive real estate holdings.  During his tenure with Pinehurst he established a close relationship with Lula Gouger and Wallace O’Neal who owned the largest real estate firm in the Sandhills. After the death of Mr. O’Neal in 1968, he purchased the firm from Mrs. Gouger. For over 40 years, Bill Saunders has been a motivator in the local and state Boards of REALTORS®. He was the first recipient of the Realtor of the Year award in Moore County.

Kay E. Beran is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a BS Degree in Education. Her working career began in education and continued for several years operating a floral business, and a furniture sales business. Beran and her husband, Col. Jeff Beran, USAF/Retired, have lived in various parts of the United States and abroad. She worked as a real estate sales professional in Idaho and South Carolina prior to joining Prudential Gouger O’Neal & Saunders in 1992. In 1995, Kay Beran was appointed President and CEO of the firm. Since that time she has been actively involved in the Board of REALTORS® and has worked and served on numerous committees and community boards.

Emily Myers Hewson attended the University of Colorado, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she has lived in Evanston, Illinois and Short Hills, New Jersey. She has been coming to the Sandhills since she was eight years old. Emily has been the manager of the Pinehurst office since 1986. Emily’s specialty is selling fine homes with particular emphasis on historic and country club properties. Hewson’s family has been associated with Moore Regional Hospital for over 60 years through the families of Samuel G. Allen and Robert S. Myers. She has served as a past president of the Moore Regional Auxiliary Board and has worked and served in various community organizations.

James W. “Jim” Saunders attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Jim is a native of Moore County and an Eagle Scout. He received his real estate license in 1994 and has been actively engaged in the family real estate firm since that time. Prior to real estate sales, he worked for several years at the Blockade Runner as a manager and with Pinehurst Resorts as Beverage Manager and a Restaurant manager. Jim has been actively engaged with Habitat for Humanity since 1986 and is a Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for Keep Moore County Beautiful. Jim served as a director for the Pinehurst Southern Pines Association of REALTORS®. He enjoys working with the Boy Scouts, traveling, Snow Skiing and building boats in his spare time.

Linda C. Criswell, a native of Florida and having spent a large majority of her career working for Fortune 500 corporations, moved to North Carolina in 1996 and then to the Sandhills in 2002. She joined Prudential Gouger O’Neal & Saunders Real Estate in 2004. As a resident of Seven Lakes, Linda provides service to her community by serving on the SLW Community Activities Committee, and is an active member of the Seven Lakes Business Guild. She is also an active member of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce where she currently serves on the steering committee for the Moore County Leadership Institute.

Sarah Hussey has been with Prudential Gouger O’Neal & Saunders Real Estate since 1987. Her primary responsibilities include serving as administrative assistant to the President & CEO, Relocation & Referral Coordinator, overseeing the daily input and changes for company listings, processing contracts, managing the earnest money trust account, and daily/monthly/quarterly reporting to Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services.

Roni Samuels joined Prudential Gouger O’Neal & Saunders Real Estate in 1998. Her primary duties involve preparing company advertisement and marketing materials for distribution to newspaper and magazine publishers, maintaining agent input for Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services, assisting in maintaining the company website, and assisting agents with marketing materials.

Maggie Morris joined Prudential Gouger O’Neal & Saunders Real Estate in 2004. Her primary tasks entail assisting agents with marketing materials, maintaining the company intranet site, Web and IT Coordinator, ebusiness manager, and maintaining the company website.
